How we check
Published numbers, named sources.
- Case limits are the case maker’s published spec, with a link to it on every page, unless the page says we measured the case ourselves. Where a maker publishes no height or thickness limit, we say so rather than guess.
- Card sizes come from the card maker’s spec page; where a maker gives sizes with and without the bracket, we use the larger.
- Some cases trade room: the Terra’s spine and the Era 2’s central wall give the card millimetres the CPU cooler loses. We pick the position that leaves the cooler the most room.
- “Tight” means it fits on paper with less than 10 mm of length, 5 mm of height or 3 mm of thickness left, or only by giving something up. Power connectors and cables need room too, so measure before you buy a tight one.
