Every unit, proven

It doesn’t leave the bench until it proves itself.

Every machine runs the same gauntlet before delivery, and the results ship with it: serials, its own benchmark numbers, and a video walkthrough of your exact unit.

Why small

A tower is mostly air.

Full-size cases are built around empty space: drive cages nobody fills, room for boards nobody buys. Take that out and the same desktop parts fit in roughly a 5× smaller enclosure.

That is the whole job: fitting desktop hardware into a machine that belongs on the desk, with cooling engineered around the parts you picked instead of the empty volume around them.

It costs more, and it should. An SFX power supply, a Mini-ITX board and a cooler that clears a 10-litre enclosure all cost more than the full-size parts doing the same work, and the build takes longer because there is nowhere to hide a mistake. Compare us to a tower with the same processor and graphics card and we will look dearer. The difference is the machine around them.

Enclosure volume

79% less case.

Fractal Design Terra uses about 21% of a typical mid-tower’s enclosure volume.

Fractal Terra: Full desktop GPU · a Respec enclosure.
What shrinks
The enclosure around the hardware, not the desktop-class CPU and graphics.
What Respec changes
Cooling and airflow are matched to the exact case and parts combination.

Mid-tower figure is a representative approximation; mainstream ATX cases run roughly 45–55 litres. Every Respec enclosure lists its own measured volume.

How it works

You make two decisions. We handle the other forty.

  1. 01

    Pick the performance

A tier for how you actually play or work: resolution, refresh rate, render times. Not a wall of part numbers.

  2. 02

    Pick the form factor

Choose the enclosure you want it to live in. Only the ones that can cool your configuration are offered.

  3. 03

    We engineer the rest

Motherboard, power supply, cooler and fans are matched to that combination. You never have to pick them, and never have to check whether they fit.

  1. Configure the PC, then choose shipping, pickup, or free Chicago delivery and setup
  2. Send it to us and we confirm the exact parts list and total with you
  3. Built, stress-tested, and documented before delivery in 5–8 business days

Choose your form factor

5 enclosures. One engineering standard.

Every configuration is offered in the cases that can actually cool it. Pick the one you want on your desk. The cooling is matched to it either way.

  • Cooling matched to the combination

Cooler, fans and airflow are selected from your CPU, GPU and enclosure together, not fitted to whatever was in the box.

  • Assembled and tested by hand

Built one at a time and routed properly, then tested: a MemTest86 pass on the memory, 3DMark for graphics and CPU, and a FurMark thermal soak. The results ship with the machine.

  • No bloatware, ever

A clean operating system install. Windows, Linux, or SteamOS on the Radeon builds. No trial software, no launcher bundles, no vendor utilities you did not ask for.

  • The total is clear before payment

You see the configuration, the fulfillment cost and the tax-inclusive total before any money changes hands. Nothing is added at the end.

  • Paperwork for your machine, not a brochure

Component serials, a capture of the running system, its own benchmark results and a video walkthrough of the unit with your name on it. Keep it: it is what proves what is inside your PC years from now.

  • One person builds it, and you can reach them

The same person specifies your machine, assembles it, tests it, records the walkthrough and answers your email, for as long as we're here. Not a queue, not a ticket number, not a different shift.

Questions, answered.

Anything not covered here, just ask.

How long does a build take?

Machines are built to order rather than pulled off a shelf, currently 5–8 business days. Each product page states its own lead time, and you are told the date before you commit.

Can I pick it up, or do you ship?

Machines are built in Chicago and shipped nationwide. Inside Chicago, delivery and setup are free: we bring it to your desk, connect it, and leave it running — or you can collect it in person by appointment. Choose the option before your order is finalized.

How do I know my machine works?

Before your machine ships or is ready for pickup, you get proof from that specific unit: component serials, a capture of the running system, and its benchmark results, plus a video walkthrough. If you want to watch something run live, we’ll get on a call and run it.

What if a part isn’t available?

We tell you before anything is ordered, and you approve any change. The parts list on the product page is what gets built. There are no silent substitutions.

What warranty comes with it?

1 Year of parts and labour is included, covering both the components and the way we assembled them. After that we will quote you before any work starts, and you can email the person who built it at any time.

What operating system does it come with?

Your choice. Windows 11 is a genuine OEM licence bought for your machine, at $100. Already own a licence? We install Windows free and you enter your own key when it arrives. Linux is free, in the distro you name. On the Radeon builds you can also have SteamOS free, installed and updated by us. It is Valve's console-style system that boots straight into your Steam library. Or take it with no OS at all.

Does small mean slower, or louder?

The parts are the same desktop CPUs and graphics cards you would put in a full tower. The work is in the thermals, which is why a configuration is only offered in the enclosures that can cool it. Incompatible cases are not selectable at all.

Tell us the machine. We’ll build it.

Configure one of ours, or describe the work and we’ll spec it. Either way you approve the exact parts and the price before anything is ordered.
